| History |
My name is Mark Bamford, this is my 6th year of racing, mostly on 250's and 400s. Originally I used to do everything myself and seemed to spend more time on preparation than actually racing the bikes. In 2006 I got together with Jackie my Fiancee and made her Team Manager. This means that she does all the important organising and takes care of all the nitty gritty details allowing me to get on with the business of racing. This worked out very well and we decided in 2007 rather than race on the Isle of Man where we live, we would have a go at a UK championship. The Derby Pheonix club is one of the best organised with a varied calender of events. Added to that the strong F400/F250 Grid and the added bonus of an Open 400 grid it was the perfect choice. We had such a good time and made so many great friends last year that it was hard to imagine not doing it all again this year. With the opportunity of riding a VJ23 as well it was impossible to say no particularly as I have some unfinished business on the race track. |

Other Info.
Having travelled the length and breadth of England last year from Croft to Snetterton, and faced with even more race dates this year, we have teamed up with a good friend Jon Kennaugh who rides a K6 GSXR1000 to split the travel costs. The entries are all posted and the ferries have all been booked, all that is left to do is buy some tyres and turn up to Brands Hatch on the 20th of March for a days testing on the new bike, then its race day on the 21st..... |
