Other Info.
Name: Rob Moon
- Age: 18
- Hometown: Battle, East Sussex
- Height: 6 ' 0 "
- Weight: 10st 6lb
- Status: In a relationship!
- Occupation: I'm a technician for Alf's Motorcycles in Worthing.
- Hobbies & Interests: I am 100% dedicated to success in racing, so naturally motorcycles are by far the biggest part of my life. I’m a big supporter of anything automotive with two-wheels… BSB, MX, WSB, Moto-GP etc etc! Outside of racing I like to socialise and spend time with friends and family, and generally enjoy myself!
- Likes: Riding and racing Motorcycle s, competition, coutryside, endless open roads, anything fast and fun!
- Dislikes: Not being able to ride! I don’t get on well with cocky, selfish or two-faced people, but in all honestly there’s not a lot else that frustrates me - you only live once!
- Riding experience: I first learnt to ride at eight on an old KE100, before moving up into an old YZ125 for my first races in local youth motocross championships. A big injury at the first round of the 2004 GEST Open 125 season seemed the perfect excuse to step up to road-racing for 2006 on board a budget-spec CBR600RR with the BMCRC.
- First race: My first race was in the 2002 GEST Youth Open championship at Udimore, on board my nakkered old YZ125. In road racing it was the BMCRC's Rookie 600 championship at Brands Hatch, on board a Honda CBR600RR.
- Favourite circuit: Brands Hatch and Snetterton, without a doubt!
- Ambitions: To win an international championship.
- Fears: Debt (haha!), and paralysis.
- Heros: Valentino Rossi, Leon Haslam, James Toseland and Steve Hislop amongst others!
- Food: Anything and everything! Italian food is nice, so I love pasta and salads.
- Drink: I’m not a huge drinker so it’s normally just juices and squash for me.
- Film: It’s the people and the atmosphere that make movies a laugh! Comedies and horrors are the most entertaining for me – American Pie and the Saw trilogy are awesome!
- Music: Not a big lover of music, but I’ll listen to anything. It's all good, in moderation.
- Best memories: The first time I ever slung a leg over a 600cc Motorcycle was at my first race meeting at Brands Hatch, so naturally the first drop down Paddock Hill was absolutely breathtaking! Also racing at Snetterton for the first time, and gaining some very commendable results from poor grid positions was pretty cool! My work-experience at JHP Ducati Coventry was amazing, and also working in the BSB Paddock in 2005 alongside Stuart Easton and John Hackett was incredible! |
